Brazil World Cup Tickets go on sale 2014

Tickets for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil went on sale on Tuesday, with fans able to use on Fifa’s site.

Fifa is anticipating a comparable need to Germany 2006, when there had to do with seven candidates for every ticket of the 64-match competition.

Around 3.3 million tickets will be available for the tournament.

Tickets will range in price from 58 (United States $90) for first-round matches to 632 ($990) for the final at Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.

Brazilian citizens over 60, neighborhood students and participants of some social programs can purchase tickets for 23 ($15).

It’s constantly hard to forecast,” stated Fifa marketing supervisor Thierry Weil. “But I really believe that it will be more towards to what occurred in Germany than in South Africa in 2010.”.

According to Fifa, the 2006 World Cup was gone to by more than 3.3 million fans. Nearly two million tickets were offered to the general public in South Africa, although the number of applications throughout the first ticketing phase was significantly lower.

If there are not sufficient tickets available to meet all requests, all applications made prior to 10 October 2013 will get in an arbitrary choice draw.

The sales of the leftover tickets will begin on 5 November on a first-come, first-served basis. An additional phase will begin on 8 December after the draw is made.

The tournament begins on 12 June, with Brazil playing the opener in Sao Paulo.

BBC World Service accomplished a research, called the Price of Football – World Cup 2014, which looked at the ticket costs and the cost of traveling to Brazil. It found that English fans face hotel costs of between â¤ 46 and â¤ 797 an evening, while bundles range from â¤ 2,999 to â¤ 14,999.
